　　硕士生玛尼回抵故乡魁北克北部的原居民保存区，她很多疾苦的回忆再次出现，但为了重新融入这个群体，她积极介入当地居民所倡议关于酒精饮品自在买卖的公投案。而销售私酒的萝拉在丈夫雷蒙德及区委会的庇护下顺遂中饱私囊。除了萝拉与玛尼势如水火，雷蒙德也是仍对玛尼耿耿于怀，以为玛尼应当对昔时他女儿葬身火场的工作负责。两个对峙的女人敏捷使这个地区分红两派，她们必须正面交锋，决议此地域自力的最好路子。
　　导演Caroline Monnet是一位今世艺术家，这是她执导的第一部剧情长片，剧情报告一个位于魁北克北部的原居民保存区其禁酒令及走私的关系，而且质疑了地区自治的需要性。导演透过镜头，借由职业演员、素人演员与这个地区的对话，来显现敏感的议题。
